She tried to leave the restaurant business for fifteen years, particularly after a stint at a Red Lobster, where she was accused of trying to start a labor union and where she testified for friends in four successful harassment suits.  She is now the director of a public library, but the food industry memories simmer.  Her other interests include scuba diving, film, politics, roller coasters, fine American whiskies, and advocating for downtrodden waitpeople. 

The Stained Apron would not exist without the help of restaurant workers around the planet who have submitted their stories and ideas. Many thousands of thank yous! Please keep them coming!
